Trench Roller RTLx-SC3: smart remote-controlled trench roller

The RT trench roller with the SC3 infrared-remote control offers proven compaction results with safer operation. The smart control uses an infrared signal with line-of-sight control. The articulated trench roller with padfoot drums offers below the axle exciter in each drum to allow for the efficient transfer of compaction energy to the soil for superior compaction results. Designed for construction, the RT delivers optimal compaction in trenches and sub-base applications for foundations, roads, and parking lots.

Infrared Line-of-sight Remote Control

The operator is removed from the hazards of operating compaction equipment inside a trench or near other equipment.
The operator is protected from dust, exhaust fumes and noise emissions
A proximity sensor between the operator and the machine automatically disables the machine within a range of 2 meters

Low Exciter Position

The below the axle exciter system in each drum allows for more efficient transfer of energy to the soil for superior compaction results.
With the exciters positioned below the axle , the center of gravity is also lower which improves the stability of the machine and lowers the risk of the machine tipping over over.
As the compaction energy is transferred directly to the soil, the wear of the machine is reduced. This decreases the overall maintenance cost of the machine.

Low Maintenance Cost

Permanently lubricated exciter and drive systems are maintenance free making it most economical to run throughout its first life. No drive or exciter oil changes are required.
All other machine components are easily accessible thanks to the wide opening hoods, which makes cleaning and maintenance an easy daily task.

Tip-Over Protection

The roller can be set for lockout or non-lockout modes that will shutdown the machine should the side-to-side operating angle exceed 45° and any required inspections or repairs can be performed to avoid any damage to the engine or other components before the machine can be restarted. This feature reduces the chance for costly repairs.

Flexible Drum Width

Dual section drums allow for convenient conversion widths of 82 cm to 56 cm. One machine can cover two operating widths depending on the requirements of the application by removing the outer extensions.
The easy to remove extensions have a central mounting system that protects the bolts from exposure to damage during operation

Third Infrared Receiving Eye

A patented third infrared receiving eye on top of the trench roller eliminates signal loss, while retaining the line-of-sight control of the roller even when operating inside a trench. Operating can be guaranteed, as the third infrared signal leads to fewer interruptions improving operational efficiency.
