Wacker Neuson ensures low operating costs

Entrepreneur Henrik Kloster has been running the construction company Sommersted Vest since 1996. Most years with Wacker Neuson excavators. This ensures low operating costs.

Sommersted Vest has just received two new Wacker Neuson excavators and thus has three in total. The new one is a 2-ton, replacing a corresponding one that had run 5000 hours and the other is a 6.5-ton, replacing a 17-ton excavator that has not been used a lot. The expectation is that the Wacker Neuson ET65 suits better the activities and so can be used better.

We work a lot with the burial of cables, and the smaller machines fit very well. The Wacker Neuson is the only excavator with tilt in the undercarriage (VDS), so we can work on a sloping surface, yet the cabin and thus the driver's seat remain straight up. It's really nice to sit stable, no matter how the machine is placed. It means a lot for the body after a long working day, says Henrik Kloster, who runs Sommersted Vest. The slightly strange name comes from the fact that there were three contractors in Sommersted in 1996. Henrik Kloster's company was furthest to the west of the three, so the name fell naturally. The company operates throughout southern Jutland and part of South Jutland up to a line from Fredericia to Varde, where the company currently operates in Varde Municipality.

We have dug a lot of fiber cable down for TDC. We are subcontractors on the task, and even though we are about to finish the fiber network as such, cable still has to be added to many properties, and our two smaller Wacker Neuson machines fit 1.7 and 2.0 ton really good and they are easyly placed on a trailer and movede around, says Henrik Kloster. In addition to the burial of fiber cables, Sommersted Vest carries out a wide range of construction work, such as ground drain, earthworks for construction, garden and coating work.

The Wacker Neuson is a stable machine, for which we have not had quite a lot of expenses. We have tried other brands in between, but we have always returned to Wacker Neuson. We change oil and make daily maintenance, so we hardly use of the service from the supplier, says Henrik Kloster. The new Wacker Neuson ET65 is equipped with engcon tiltrotator and Leica machine management. It is new to Sommersted Vest, and the machine is so new that Henrik Kloster has not gained his experience.

The tiltrotator gives the machine more flexibility for even more applications, so we utilize it better  than the previous 17-ton machine. Sommersted Vest, in addition to Henrik Kloster, is also his son and more than an employee.
