Production

We manufacture most of our products in Reichertshofen (Germany), Milwaukee (United States) and Manila (Philippines). Each of the products of more than 250 product groups is manufactured at only a single location. For example, the entire range of rollers and rammers is made in the United States, while vibratory plates, concrete compaction equipment and hammers and cutters are made in Reichertshofen, and light vibratory plates are manufactured in Manila. Compact equipment is largely produced on demand. Track and mobile excavator, track dumpers and skid-steer loaders are developed and manufactured in Linz (Austria), Kramer wheel loaders and telescopic machinery in Pfullendorf (Germany) and Weidemann products in Korbach and Gotha (Germany).

Production in focus factories

Production facilities in Reichertshofen and Milwaukee are divided into focus factories that concentrate on manufacturing certain product groups. Especially in Germany, the focus factories are characterized by flat hierarchies and a high degree of employee responsibility.

Demand-oriented production

All focus factories work according to the pull production principle. A station begins production only after it has received a demand signal from the downstream station - this way, inventory can be minimized and reaction times improved. The volume of an order determines the number of team members present in production. To this extent, the workers have flexible working times. All employees receive well-rounded training so that they can be assigned anywhere within the product group. A special bonus system rewards productivity, schedule effectiveness and production quality.

Logistics

Our logistics centers in Munich (Germany), Milwaukee (United States) and Hong Kong (China) ensure that new equipment, accessories and spare/wearing parts are available and ready for shipment anywhere in the world. Compact equipment is usually delivered ex works.

Sophisticated logistics support for product and spare parts business

By bundling procurement and shipping management in the respective logistics centers, we have removed storage of products and spare parts from affiliates and service stations in favor of centralization. Continuous improvement of internal processes is aimed at increasing performance and customer satisfaction.

Efficient production control

In addition, this approach shall allow for targeted and efficient production planning in the production facilities. Each week the facilities receive a production order from their respective logistics center. As a result of this organizational structure, branches, sales and service stations can concentrate on sales, rental and service.
