The only way is up for this dynamic duo
(Pfullendorf, April 19, 2010) With its new 1245 and 2506 models, Kramer Allrad adds a
lightweight touch to its range of telehandlers and opens up new market possibilities
Two new models have been added to Kramer Allrad’s range of telehandlers in the lower weight
classes. With its 2506 compact telehandler, the south-German wheel loader specialist has
developed a powerful vehicle for the popular 2x2-meter class. The 1245 mini-telehandler, for its
part, addresses a whole new market segment. This ultracompact machine combines the reach
of a traditional telehandler with the manoeuvrability of a mini-wheel loader.

So compact and so versatile: with its two new telehandlers, Kramer Allrad enters into direct
competition with the forklift truck and compact loader manufacturers. "Both models offer a
sensible alternative to traditional vehicle concepts in many fields of deployment," explains
Andreas Breunig, product manager. Thanks to their all-wheel steering with generous steering
lock and their compact design, the telehandlers are extremely manoeuvrable, making fast and
light work of stacking and transportation work in even the tightest of spaces. As regards the
technical specs of these telehandlers, the Kramer designers have taken their cue from the
machines’ larger cousins. While the sensitive work hydraulics are equipped as standard with a
third control circuit, the hydrostatic drive controls via inching pedal enable extremely precise
stacking. The driver enjoys excellent all-round vision from the fully glazed cab, with the tool
attachment always remaining in full view. The multifunctional joystick makes for supreme user
comfort, enabling the driver to control the lifting and tipping movements with the utmost precision.
A valuable aid in tight workspaces
With its 2506 telehandler, Kramer for the first time has a machine in the popular 2x2-meter class.
Powered by a 68 hp diesel engine, this model has a maximum lift height of 5.75 m and should
prove to be an attractive option in many market segments because it combines the performance
characteristics of a traditional telehandler with the manoeuvrability and compactness of an
indoor machine. In the construction industry, it will offer invaluable support in conversion or
renovation work in car parks, basements and other space-restricted working areas. With a
vehicle width of only 1.94 m, narrow passageways are child’s play for this Kramer telehandler.
Low headroom, too, will rarely cramp its style, with a total vehicle height of less than 2 m. For all
that, this machine can certainly punch above its weight, and is able to handle a maximum
payload of 2.5 metric tons. The reach benefits of the 2506 also offer an interesting alternative
when it comes to work efficiency. Andreas Breunig sees all this as offering major savings
potential for the construction materials business. "This Kramer telehandler not only acquits
itself as a fully-fledged stacking machine, it also demonstrates its strengths in the loading of
bulk goods." Here, uneven terrain presents no problem: the typical Kramer design principle -
all-wheel steering and one-piece chassis - guarantees high stability whatever the surface.
The mini-version of a traditional telehandler
With its 1245 mini-telehandler, Kramer Allrad is pursuing an essentially new concept. Basically,
the machine is designed like a traditional telescopic loader: lateral engine, all-wheel steering,
with centrally-located boom arm. Yet no manufacturer has yet constructed such a powerful
telehandler with such compact dimensions. At 2.92 m long and 1.56 m wide, the Kramer 1245
can achieve a maximum lift of 4.30 m. Although with no tool attachment it tips the scales with a
charge weight of just 2.5 metric tons, the new machine is a powerful performer. "On its first test
outings, the drivers were astonished to discover the power it packs under its bonnet," says
Andreas Breunig. Indeed, this, the smallest member of the Kramer Allrad telehandler range, is
able to lift up to 1200 kg. The tighter the space constraints, the more the strengths of this
mini-telehandler come to the fore. The Kramer 1245 can be driven with equal ease through the
narrow aisles of high bay racking areas and around small greenhouses, where stacking needs
to be done with care between tightly packed rows of plants. And as it can attain a maximum
reach of 2.30 m, there is no wasted time driving from one side of a job to the other.
Both telehandlers can be configured with a host of performance options and tool attachments for
special areas of deployment. Drive system, engine and work hydraulics can be optimally
adjusted to meet the needs of various branches of industry. Kramer Allrad has produced these
machines with cost-effectiveness in mind. Their excellent price-performance ratio also makes
them a particularly sound option for plant rental companies. Here, once again, the
user-friendliness of Kramer telehandlers makes them stand out, enabling even occasional
drivers to make full use of the performance spectrum of these machines. The compact design
of both models means that not only are they easy to transport, but their low power-to-weight ratio
also keeps the operating costs down.
