Wacker Neuson und Kramer Allrad – Trade Fair News

Far more than just a loader: the attachment carrier from Kramer!
At the Bauma 2010 trade fair, Kramer - the south-German compact equipment manufacturer - will be exhibiting many new products. They all have one key feature in common: they are
incredibly versatile and offer solutions for a huge range of different applications.
In order to communicate Kramer qualities and brand values in a more targeted fashion, Kramer
has defined an overall design concept: High Balanced Handling® to provide optimal balance,
comfort and cost effectiveness, along with a well-balanced ecological deployment of its loaders
and systems.
"Central to our research and development work are our customers and their needs. We produce
solutions for every type of job that a loader may be called upon to tackle. This involves far more
than just traditional loading and lifting work," explains Karl Friedrich Hauri, managing director of
Kramer-Werke GmbH.
At the Bauma 2010 trade fair, the company will be presenting a new Premium Wheel Loader
range, in which the characteristics of the existing series have been optimised and additional
options made available.
The series now comprises six new machines, from the 380 through to the 780, and once again
includes a tele wheel loader, the 680T. As a result, Kramer now offers a comprehensive product
range that spans the compact wheel loader market from 0.3 up to 2.5 m³ bucket capacity.
When it comes to performance, Kramer has once again pulled out all the stops. "With the new
80 series, we obtain 15% more tractive force and 10% more tear-out force," says Norbert Mingau,
Kramer product manager. What the 80 series really has going for it is its versatility. Every wheel
loader of the 80 series can be individually configured to customer requirements. Starting with the
380 model, all machines can be fitted with Ecospeed hydrostatic high-speed drive, which allows
the machine speed to be adjusted steplessly up to a top speed of 40 kph. Combine the
Ecospeed option with a trailer coupling and the Kramer wheel loader can be used as a
fully-fledged towing vehicle, whereby not only tool attachments and materials but also
construction machinery up to a weight of 13.5 metric tons can be conveyed. This offers massive
savings in transport costs and valuable working time. What is more, the 80 series also enjoys
EC tractor certification, which means that these vehicles are authorized to be driven throughout
Europe on the public highway.
Lots of other performance and equipment options serve to enhance the high functionality of
Kramer wheel loaders. At the touch of a button, the machines can be switched from all-wheel
drive to front axle drive or crab steering, enormously enhancing the deployment possibilities and
making the machines even more manoeuvrable. The pilot-controlled work hydraulics make for
really fast loading sequences even when there is lots of material to shift, and are optimally suited
to the drive system. If even the powerful standard hydraulics are not enough for you, all new
models can be ordered with the supplementary "Power Flow" hydraulics. This makes light work,
for example, of snow clearance and asphalting.
When focusing on the cab space, the Kramer designers had the driver’s working conditions
predominantly in mind, and by increasing both length and width of the vehicles they have turned
them into genuine feel-good zones. Full-sized doorways on both sides are also fitted as standard,
plus an adjustable steering column and adjustable comfort seat with extended backrest. Thanks
to their onboard systems, all Kramer machines offer their customers so much more when it
comes to manoeuvrability, off-road capability as well as safety and security.
In its range of telehandlers, Kramer has just unveiled two new models. This successful product
line has been expanded into the lower weight categories and opens up brand-new market
segments for Kramer. "We now have an extremely attractive model range on offer. The first test
drivers were surprised at just how powerful these new compact telehandlers really are," says a
delighted Andreas Breunig, Kramer product manager.
With its 2506 telehandler, Kramer for the first time has a machine in the popular 2x2-meter class.
With a maximum lift height of 5.75 m, the 68 hp workhorse will prove an attractive option in many
market segments. In the construction industry, it will prove invaluable in conversion or renovation
work, in car parks, basements and other space-restricted working areas. With a vehicle width of
only 1.94 m, narrow passageways are child’s play for this Kramer telehandler. Low headroom,
too, will rarely cramp its style, the total vehicle height being less than 2 m. For all that, this
machine can certainly punch above its weight, and is able to handle a maximum payload of 2.5
metric tons.
With its 1245 mini-telehandler, Kramer Allrad is pursuing an essentially new concept. Basically,
the machine is designed like a traditional telescopic loader: lateral engine, all-wheel steering,
with centrally-located boom arm. Yet no manufacturer has yet constructed such a powerful
telehandler with such compact dimensions. At 2.92 m long and 1.56 m wide, the Kramer 1245
can achieve a maximum lift of 4.50 m. Although without tool attachment it tips the scales with a
charge weight of a mere 2.5 metric tons, the new machine is a powerful performer. Indeed, this,
the smallest member of the Kramer Allrad telehandler range, is capable of lifting up to 1200 kg.
The tighter the space constraints, the more the strengths of this mini-telehandler come to the fore.
The Kramer 1245 can be driven with equal ease through the narrow aisles of high bay racking
areas and around small greenhouses, where stacking needs to be done with care between
tightly packed rows of plants. And since it can attain a maximum reach of 2.30 m, time-wasting
diversions are kept to a minimum.
"The advantage of our product range is that we are able to offer every user and every
decision-maker machines for every type of application, from mini-loader through wheel loader
and tele wheel loader to telehandlers. This is what makes our products so appreciated and our
company so successful," concludes Karl Friedrich Hauri.
